Be a good neighbour: Templates for leaseholder mutual help during self-isolation period
Almost all blocks of leasehold flats will face increased difficulties during the self-isolation period. It is vitally important that leaseholders work together and support their managing agent.
Cleaning on sites may become more of a problem as staff self-isolate, and bin collections may become more of an issue.
It may take longer or a lot longer to fix things when something goes wrong. Make sure you report any issues as soon as you can rather than assume that someone else is already aware.
Many blocks of flats may have a large proportion of people with conditions that make them vulnerable, so it’s important that neighbours do all they can to help while also keeping themselves safe.
The government is in the process of implementing systems to help those they deem most vulnerable, but those systems may take time to implement.
A number of sites have started self-help systems and formed WhatsApps groups to help each other.
If you have not done so already we would urge you to do the same.
