Has anyone had dealings with Deacon property management please? I’m hoping to buy a 1-bed flat in a two flat semi-detached in Brighton managed by them but the paperwork from the solicitors is turning up really high charges for year up to Sept 2014:
100 Ground rent
890 Service charge expenses
300 Building Insurance
100 Health & Safety
50 Accountancy fees
376 Management fees
Costs seem to be rising by about 1/5th a year…

All charges should relate to to work being carried out ,yearly,and what you get in return..do youhave grounds/land to maintain.Is the heating and hotwater included. is the communal area cleaned in those charges.
I have flat local and am on the committee.The money charged to each 72 flats is accountable,so request the owner show you 2 years of documentation
