NATIONAL LEASEHOLD CAMPAIGN (NLC) ARE HOLDING A MINUTES SILENCE TO HONOUR GRENFELL TOWER VICTIMS.
Today at 1500hrs the National Leasehold Campaign will fall silent.
7200 strong members of the NLC will stand in solidarity today to hold a minute’s silence to honour all Grenfell Tower Victims.
“As fellow leaseholders we stand united”
Across UK, our group of over 7200 members falls silent at 3pm. We know the awful fight the tenants and leaseholders of Grenfell had with the freeholders and managing agents. The toxic nature of this feudal property tenure led directly to the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
We have grave concerns that this is aspect of the problem will not be covered by the enquiry or prosecutions. Leaseholders across the country face similar and ongoing problems as a direct result of freehold system. We continue to fight the fight and will not go away or be divided by the government or vested interests. Lives are being destroyed daily by it and Grenfell stands as a testament to the war that is being waged on leaseholders throughout the country and in social housing. Both treated as tenants and abysmally with no protection in law.
“This is feudal fleecehold/freehold culture is not fit for purpose and must be abolished” says Katie Kendrick and Reins.
