The plight of 50 Oxford City Council leaseholders facing major works bills of £50,000 each was featured on BBC Radio 5 Live this morning.

Regarding local authority leasehold, he made the point that councils must be refurbishing property as opposed to enhancing it at the expense of freeholders.
Mr Fitzpatrick pointed out that in his own constituency of Poplar and Limehouse there are leaseholders, even in seven-figure properties, who are victims of unscrupulous freeholders and property management companies.
